BIOGRAPHY

Branka Mikic, MD, PhD, graduated from Medical School of Belgrade University in 1976. Afterwards obtained her master degree (MSc) in otorhinolaryngology in 1981. and became an ENT consultant in 1983. In 1995. got her PhD in the field of paediatric audiology. Doctoral thesis was: “The influence of early rehabilitation in children with congenital profound hearing impairment on brainstem auditory evoked potential parameters”.

Since 1985, has been the Head of the Audiology Rehabilitation Department at Clinical Centre of Serbia in Belgrade. It is a multidisciplinary team devoted to early identification and rehabilitation of congenital hearing loss. The Department was founded in 1967. Paediatric audiology and otoneurology are the main points of her professional interest.

She is a lecturer in postgraduate studies for otorhinolaryngologists, paediatricans, audiologists and speech therapists. She has published a number of articles on early identification and management of childhoood hearing impairment.
She is member of EFAS, ISA and EAONO.
