Organisation Details
The Institute for Experimental Phonetics and Speech Pathology (IEPSP) was founded in 1949 by Professor Djordje Kostic, world-renowned linguist, phonetician, painter and poet, until his death in 1995.
IEPSP is the institution that covers the activities of national importance in the following areas:
SCIENCE - IEPSP conducts fundamental, applied and developmental researches of hearing, speech and language.
HEALTH CARE – by application of scientific results, IEPSP has developed a unique KSAFA system for early detection, diagnostics and habilitation of speech and language in children with hearing impairment and speech pathology, which prevents disability in children and encourages the development of healthy posterity. Owing to KSAFA system, 90% of hearing impaired children develop speech and are admitted to regular primary schools, and in 30% of children with a disorder in speech development it prevents the onset of pseudomental retardation, and reduces by 50% the treatment duration of children with speech disorders.
KSAFA system is in the procedure of acquiring the status of Serbian brand.
IEPSP - has formed the network of Centres for early habilitation of speech and language on the territory of Serbia, which presently habilitate about 2000 children aged 0-10 every year.
We particularly wish to emphasize that on October 30, 2005, IEPSP signed the contract with All Greek organization for communication disorders and therapy – P.A.L.O. for the introduction of KSAFA system in Greece. Greek experts will be educated at the Institute in Belgrade.
IEPSP possesses the domestic and international certificate IQnet, OQS and Evrocert for the system of quality management according to JUS ISO 9001:2001 standards.
IEPSP is in the process of organizing the Academy of verbal communication, whose aim is to use our vast scientific and expert knowledge to educate young people from around the world, according to all world criteria with international status.
